Program

The program has these sections: Nursery, and Students.

The curriculum is called "All Things New". It's an official Episcopal curriculum, published by Morehouse Publishing. The titles of the three units are "Genesis: Stories of Beginnings", which we did in the fall, Jesus: Stories of God's Kingdom", which ended 2/27, and now "Easter and Pentecost: Stories of the Church."

Another thing I have done to supplement the curriculum is to discuss the various seasons of the church year, actually using the Kalendar that we sell at Trinity to demonstrate the meaning of various colors of days according to seasons, Saint's days, etc.

I have been supplementing the curriculum with teachings about the way in which our Liturgical Seasons work. Using our Episcopal "Kalendar", I have been pointing out the different colors that symbolize each season of the church year. The commentaries on the back of the Kalendar have also been a helpful teaching tool.

We have also spent time discussing the beauty of each of nature's seasons. As each season changes we have decorated our rooms with appropriate art work to indicate that we are grateful for fall, winter, and now spring.

Each week, we have a pastoral prayer in which we pray for the needs of each student, or give thanks for good things that have happened to us. We also play church related music, especially the Doxology, on combs, kazoos, and now hopefully with our new harmonicas.

Fund Raising

Each summer, there is a raffle. Depending on the date, it is called "June Jubilee" or "May Madness" or the like. The donors and winners for 2004.
