Our statement of mission:

As a parish Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts we believe God in Christ is working everywhere in the world to heal, to reconcile, to love every person and all of creation into wholeness. Through the life, cross and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, the power of sin and death has been broken; life and hope is the new reality.

It is our mission to join God's transforming mission. We will form our children, our young people and our adult members, through prayer, worship and Scripture, to become followers of Christ, that we might discern where God is carrying out this mission in our world. And we will send our people to serve with Christ, inviting everyone and all of creation to share in the just reign of God.

As an inner city parish, Trinity Haverhill is most particularly called:

To be a welcoming, extended family to community children and their families…

…where they experience God’s love

…where they receive and give “respect for the dignity of every human being,” and

…where they are formed in the gifts of the Spirit:

            “An inquiring and discerning heart”

            “Courage to will to persevere”

“Joy and wonder in all God’s works”

We fulfill our mission by:

Answering God’s urgent call to join God's mission in the world, through participation in local mission initiative like the Portland Street Playground, Merrimack Valley Project, and the Merrimack Valley Mission Hub we answer the call to serve our community and the people living here.

Answering God’s urgent call to care for God's creation, reclaiming more fully our role as stewards by practicing, teaching and investing in sustainable ways so that this earth, our island home, might be healed and that all might live abundantly as God intends.

Answering God’s urgent call for vital and viable congregations, so that the Episcopal Church’s presence in Haverhill is visible and robust and God’s people are cared for and equipped to join God’s mission through the ministries of their daily lives.

Answering God's urgent call for raising up new generations in faith and service, by nurturing the spiritual gifts of our children, youth and young adults through our children’s formation, youth group, ACAT, and FEAST, so they might quicken the life of our church today and lead us forward as bold and faithful witnesses to the Gospel life.quipped to join God’s mission through the ministries of their daily lives.

Our prayer for mission

O gracious and loving God, you work everywhere reconciling, loving and healing your people and creation. In your Son and through the power of your Holy Spirit, you invite each of us to join you in your work. We, young and old, lay and ordained, ask you to form us more and more in your image and likeness, through our prayer and worship of you and through the study of your Scripture, that our eyes will be fully opened to your mission in the world. Then, God, into our communities, our nation and the world, send us to serve with Christ, taking risks to give life and hope to all people and all of your creation. We ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen.
