CHRISTIAN EDUCATION 2004
The Sunday School has been working with an Episcopalian curriculum, "All Things New." In the fall quarter, we studied Old Testament stories from Genesis. In Advent, the curriculum shifted to seasonally appropriate stories of the Annunciation and the Nativity. During the season of Epiphany, we will be studying stories of Jesus's early ministry.
We have been supplementing these stories with various crafts, as well as relevant coloring pages for the younger children. We have also been learning several hymns and Christmas Carols with instrumental accompaniments of kazoos and the harmonica. I hope to begin teaching some of the older children how to play hymns on harmonicas in the coming weeks.
I have enjoyed getting to know the children in our program. They are a pleasant group, and I have had almost no behavior problems. My only regret is the small head count every week, which seems to have been dwindling as the year progresses. We need to all work together to bring more children into our church family, since they are the foundation of our future as a church.
