=> Forming => History => Year Awards
In 1978, the parish began the custom of bestowing awards annually upon members of the parish, in token of their contributions to the life of the parish. It was decided to recognize parishioners for work accomplished during their lifetime of service to Trinity Church. The first recipients to receive this honor were Eleanor K. Morse and Ewan W. Glass who were both 90 years young. You will notice two plaques that honor others throughout the years are hanging in the upstairs hall.
The Man of the Year Award is given at the annual Men's Corporate Communion Breakfast. and the Woman of the Year Award at the Women's Corporate Communion Breakfast.

An excerpt of the speech delivered by Betty Malbon:
Another remarkale Trinity woman to be honored, she is a "can do" person. When there is a need, she says "I can do that". She has served without hesitation, always with a smile, and with great competence.
Some of the things she has done, or is presently doing: St. Margaret's Guild, Worship Committee, Safe Church Committee, Choir, Altar Guild, etc. etc.
for long time service to the congregation, despite difficulties.
for his years of faithful attendance with Joan, and for his deep concern for the affairs and the members of the parish. St James must be proud to have him for a member.
Since Chris Cerrato joined us, he has done much, and served us well, as Chorister, member of the Vestry, and most recently as Junior Warden.
Candace "Candy" Picanso has been a faithful member of this parish for many years, and has served us well in many capacities, most visibly perhaps as Clerk.
Leaders need doers, and Dorrit has been one of the best doers at Trinity.
For providing correction to the rector, direction to the vestry, and assistance where needed
a long-standing member of this congregation, active in the choir, providing support when repairs were needed, and everybody's favorite curmudgeon (second, perhaps, to Richard Johnson's crustiness), for your many contributions to the life of the parish, making Trinity what Trinity is.
She is the first one to raise her hand and say "I'll do it." Of course, at times she'll turn to me and ask, "what am I doing, where is it, and what time!" . Margaret gives freely of herself, not only to people from the parish, but to former patients and friends who need rides for doctor's appointments. She is our own medical resource, being an R.N. She volunteers each Wednesday at the Joyful Ladle. She will do those errands that need to be done.
